Andy and Haley live on a 60 acre farm in Connecticut that has been in the family for many generations. In the summer, they grow vegetables and animals, and in the winter, they fix stuff. They like to forge and work wood respectively, or hunt and garden. They think life is more exciting when you’re creating something, be it edible, functional, or beautiful.

An excellent examination of modern hunting is Ted Kerasote’s “Bloodties” (http://www.kerasote.com/booksB.html). It explores the relationship between different hunters around the world and their prey, from American trophy hunters to Inuit subsistence hunters. I highly recommend it if you want to focus on that aspect.
